Our Early Intervention and Education Programs provide students ages 3-21 with intensive instruction that is specially designed to meet individual needs including academics, physical development, home and community skills, language development, social and emotional learning, behavioral support, social interaction, and independence.
BCBA
The Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) provides clinical and instructional leadership within the special education program, ensuring high-quality, individualized services for learners. In collaboration with Special Education Teacher, Supervising BCBA and Executive Director, this role oversees staff development, implements behavior-analytic programs, and maintains a positive, professional learning environment. Key responsibilities include developing and monitoring instructional and behavior intervention plans, conducting assessments, training staff, analyzing learner data, and supporting family engagement through home programming and consistent communication. The BCBA ensures program fidelity, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement through documentation, feedback, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide clinical leadership and collaborate with educators and staff to deliver high-quality, individualized behavioral services.
- Develop and implement behavior intervention plans, instructional programs, and functional behavior assessments.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate staff to ensure effective program implementation and professional growth.
- Analyze student data to guide decision-making and modify instruction based on outcomes.
- Partner with families through home programming, consistent communication, and parent training.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with IEP goals and regulatory standards.
- Participate in IEP meetings and support cross-disciplinary collaboration for student success.
- Adapt interventions and teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs in academics, daily living, and social-emotional development.
- Ensure safety and responsiveness in all environments, including crisis situations when necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of individualized educational programs (IEPs) and behavioral intervention strategies.
- Strong reading, writing and comprehension skills.
- Familiarity with data collection, graphing, and analysis methods in an educational context.
- Awareness of ethical standards and confidentiality requirements in a school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and other staff members.
- Ability to implement detailed instructional plans and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and implement educational and behavioral programs consistently.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic educational environment.

Education and Experience
- A master’s degree in special education, Education, Psychology, or a related field is required.
- Current Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience required.
- A valid driver's license is required to perform the job's essential duties.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)role requires frequent movement within the classroom, including standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. The position may involve assisting students with physical disabilities, which includes standing, sitting, squatting, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds on a consistent basis. The work environment is primarily a classroom setting, with occasional duties in other school areas. The BCBA will regularly interact with students, some of whom may exhibit challenging behaviors, and will manage various educational materials and equipment, ensuring they are organized and accessible. The role demands adaptability and the ability to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000

Special Education Teacher
Location: Princeton, NJ

Since 1970, PCDI (Princeton Child Development Institute) has provided quality, comprehensive, and research-based behavior analytic intervention for people with autism in New Jersey. Our Early Intervention and Education Programs provide students ages 3-21 with intensive instruction that is specially designed to meet individual needs including academics, physical development, home and community skills, language development, social and emotional learning, behavioral support, social interaction, and independence.
Teaching extends beyond the school day during scheduled home visits with students and their families. During home visits, hands-on training is provided to parents and caregivers to allow them to be part of the intervention team.
Description:
PCDI seeks a full-time special education teacher with experience as an ABA therapist for our Education Program. Individuals will teach new skills used Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) principles and teaching strategies. Ongoing hands-on training is provided by a module trainer/consultant who ensures consistent implementation of programming for learners and guides the development of instructors’ behavior analytic skills.
Individuals will learn to implement a variety of behavior analytic teaching strategies including the use of activity schedules, script and script-fading procedures, and Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill-Based Treatment (SBT). Training is also provided on curriculum and program design, documentation, and graphic analysis. This position includes opportunities for long-term growth, career advancement, supervision, and mentoring.
- Establish comfortable and supportive relationships with students and colleagues

- Teach and assist in the development of learners’ instruction and treatment goals
- Write programs describing instruction and treatment goals and intervention procedures
- Collect, summarize, and analyze ongoing data regarding skill acquisition and behavior management programs for students.
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and colleagues
- Support parents and caregivers in meeting home programming goals
- New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) Endorsement - may have CE or CEAS in this category
- Has, at minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, education, and related field
- Some experience working with people with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Has a valid driver’s license
- Work within designated school hours (e.g., 8am – 4pm) and home visits (e.g., a 90-minute visit once per week at the student’s home)
Working Environment/Physical Demands: Sitting, walking occasional running, some lifting, good fine and gross motor coordination to guide learners, vision, hearing, receptive and expressive English-language abilities as suited to instructional and behavior needs of students. Students occasionally sample activities in community programs during the school day and are transported by PCDI staff in company-owned or staff-owned vehicles. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
Skills: This position is best suited for individuals with strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ongoing documentation of student performance is expected and requires proficiency with writing and oral skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Sharepoint is preferred, but not required.
